TS2→ SRS (pre)Apocalypse: ↓Shaken Up↑ Part III

The plan was to only have sims who didn’t already have kids try for baby but the thing is Abbie had been wanting another baby since Julius was born. You may remember I had that mix up with the alien abduction mod that made it so that he could no longer father children after Oswin was born so Abbie went crazy trying to get abducted in hope of an alien pregnancy of her own. Anyway, with the mod settings fixed, Caius was happy to oblige.

Oswin was a little curious about where he comes from. He’s actually the half-brother of Xanthos and Xabrina!

A nice family lunch.

And Julius tells mom how excited he is to be married himself someday. Mom thinks he needs to slow down.

Baby bump!

I guess it’s not all that important that he slow down. He is a teen now. He rolled family/knowledge.

Mom must be thinking why did she do this when she has a teen and another soon-to-be teen in the household.

Don’t you think you spend a little too much time up here, Oswin?

Dad burnt dinner.

But, mom was up in the middle of the night to grab some more.

Probably not the best idea.

Caius! Personal space dude!

After spending most of the night roaming the house she was just about to go to bed when she went into labor!

Everyone was very excited about the new addition, Vincentio.

And, while I watched these two, assuming Abbie had gone to bed I heard the jingle…

Y’all gotta be kidding me!!!

You did this to yourself, Abbie!

I know it’s far-fetched but I’d like to think he’s asking about the “cure” spread over Roasted and Stirred.

Julius sharing his concerns over Oswin’s computer obsession.

I actually played this family quite a lot while trying to get Abbie abducted by aliens. I have to say they’re one of my favorites.

Yes, he’s adorable but really did you have to go and try for another one?

Don’t act surprised. You know what you did.

Dad was finally off to work… I’d been messing with times and stuff… kinda hard to explain. Anyway, I was basically repeating his days off.

That outfit was so weird I had to see what his job is.

Hmm… where’s Oswin?

Uh, how long has he been jumping on Julius’ bed?

Long enough that he was about to pass out!

No, you can’t go outside and play ball. No kids outside, remember?

Double birthday!

Oswin rolled popularity/family.

Julius: I want to get married as soon as possible!

Abbie: I’m too young for you to get married!

Abbie: I’m about to have another baby for cripes sake!

And then she slept most of the day away.

Oswin, who’d also gone back to bed after his birthday celebration was woken up to care for Vincentio. Diaper change…

And bottle.

So nice having teens in the house.

Mom was finally feeling well enough to do some toddler training.

And, after work, dad decided to trim the hedge.

Probably a bad idea.

Abbie was just coming downstairs in the morning when she went into labor.

Say what now??? There aren’t any twins in either of their families though!!

Julius was right there but she didn’t hand the first baby over to him.

Caius finally clued in on the excitement.

A boy and a girl. Rome and Jules… obviously after his parents.

Gosh, y’all got your hands full there. No more woohoo… ever!

Again, it’s good we have 2 teens happy to help out.

Although, running towards the fire with a baby wasn’t the best move.

Food’s food get over it.

And more Zanni…

Time for Caius’ little brother Antonio’s turn.

And his new wife Noelle.

Who, it turns out, is kind of a jerk.

Well, so’s the dog actually.

I’ve never really warmed up to Antonio. Then again, he hates one of “my” sims Neesha so I’m probably just holding a grudge.

He needed creativity for work and all he really wanted was to get more skill points.

It was weird (and boring) playing a two-person household.

Yikes, don’t pass out!

That is an umm… interesting work outfit.

What the heck are you doing?

Wash the dog!

(With my apocalypse restriction mods still in place the dog baths are the only baths available to purchase!)

They are so boring and work opposite shifts so they rarely see each other.

Well, I guess they make time.

(I’m a bad person. After Caius had so many kids I decided that unless Antonio or Noelle rolled the want for a baby they wouldn’t try.)

Messing with the dog too? It’s so odd both she and Antonio have nice points and yet both are kinda mean. Just goes to show personality isn’t everything.

One or both of them had the day off and they did a lot of dancing.

Time for another bath.

They were both at work and I was watching the dog during a thunderstorm and a tree was hit by lightning and caught fire!

No! Dang, you! I was high speeding. I didn’t even know they were awake until I heard the jingle. *sigh*

She was actually the dance hobby person.

They danced a lot. This was actually really cute.

And I felt bad but really I didn’t think they’d have kids! She was outside the entire time!

I should have kept her home from work since her belly should have popped soon.

The house was left in good hands. Err… paws.

No mischief will be done here!

Yea, didn’t see that coming did you? Like, 6 hours or more late.

They’re killing me with the sweetness.

More dancing.

Pop number two.

This sucks.

I think she agrees but for different reasons.

Again, I say, this sucks. And makes things very complicated for my plans.

When Julius was on the computer he was chatting with Leander.

Who just happens to be his cousin. Abbie’s brother Felix’s son.

And also two days younger than now-toddler Vincentio. Awkward!

I decided to re-name them all Zanni. Despite my attempts, I can’t get past my dislike for the Larson name thanks to Meadow.

Part IV coming soon!

TS2→ SRS (pre)Apocalypse: ↓Shaken Up↑ Part II

Tomas and Tatiana are one of those couples you probably barely knew before their matchmaking session. Although, Tatiana is part of one of my families… the easiest way to explain is that she’s related to Cosmo’s wife Raya. (The one who makes robots if you’re still confused.) They live with Tomas’ family as Tatiana’s twin brother Theodore lives in the family home with his wife.

As confusing as it is for those of us living in the future, for Tomas and Tatiana, they’d just gotten married.

Tomas’s mother Gem spent the entire day painting while her husband Dilan watched.

While Tomas and Tatiana were busy with other things.

I can’t imagine the piano plus radio music sound good together.

I believe both of them are thinking about Tomas’ horrible piano playing.

(Is it just me or is it really weird that they change into their everyday clothes the moment they give birth?)

Was it really that imperative that the dish was washed the moment your daughter was born, Tomas?

Anyway, meet Talyn Capp… sticking with the “T” theme their parents seem to have started.

“Do you think the zombies are gone yet?”

Seeing little Talyn aged up made her parents want another baby.

And, with another baby on the way, the new parents finally notice all is not right with the grandparents.

Next door, Tatiana’s twin brother Theodore, named after his cousin Theo (Raya’s father), and his wife Zoey (previously Vandermorgen) were getting settled with their newborn twins.

Penelope learning to talk with dad and Pheobe learning to walk with mom.

(I have a mod that lets them get out of the crib on their own.)

So cute! They hugged over and over.

Welcome to the world Nial Buckingham, Jr. Named after Theodore’s father.

Penelope, obviously since she kept the same hair and Pheobe.

Although, they don’t seem to get along as well as children sadly.

(I was thinking I don’t know where either of them got those noses but Phoebe’s looks a bit like her maternal great uncle Malcolm’s. See? We can usually trace the family trees to someone we know!)

I’ve never seen a child do this with a full aspiration meter.

And, it’s time to move on!

When aging up Penelope, Theodore did this weird high speed underhanded flip thing. It was creepy.

Poor guy had been taking care of the twins and just about to go to bed when Zoey went into labor! Pregnant sims’ needs sure do take a toll on their partners!

A/N- I really thought I’d be able to fit more than 2 households in a part! I probably can when I get to the houses without little ones. Sorry, there isn’t much commentary. I felt like the pictures speak for themselves.

Part III coming soon!

TS2→ SRS (pre)Apocalypse: ↓Shaken Up↑ Part I

Three months and eleven chapters ago we lost contact with the sims living in Shaken. At the time, I wanted to do something different with them than was I was doing with Roasted and Stirred. But, I had no idea what. I think I’ve got it pretty much figured out. Before that, we have to go back in time to when the borders closed. Right before the airborne “cure” was spread over Roasted and Stirred.

The citizens of Shaken weren’t all that concerned with the border closings. They thought their government was just overreacting and everything would go back to normal. Obviously, being several years in the future from where they are, we know it didn’t. To give a gauge to the time difference, the Shaken sims are on year 28. The conjoined Roasted and Stirred sims are on year 42. As we know, a lot can change in 14 years.

Life went on as per usual for the most part. In Shaken, there had never been any sickness, insanity, zombies, crazy multiple births… none of it. Which is why the decision was made to close the borders. One thing did change. The children weren’t allowed to go to school anymore seeing-as-how the schools were shared between all three areas. And despite their assurances that they weren’t worried, the parents wouldn’t let the kids outside at all. Any teens with jobs were made to quit. Most adults kept their jobs but some worked less often.

Note: For the first rotation, I’ve been playing all of the households for 1 week each. (years 28-34)

If you’d like a reminder of what’s been going on here’s the (pre)Apocalypse Intro and the (pre)Apocalypse Timeline Review chapters. I’ve also unpublished the Apocalypse intro since we’re continuing the “pre” chapters instead.

With two moms and six kids expect many many birthdays.

Starting with Nadya.

(Nadya was supposed to age to elder the “day” before this but I put it off since they both wanted 10 kids. As you may remember, Nadya’s brother Daxton and his wife Fern ended up having 10 kids themselves with a set of triplets and quads in fact. That’s a lot of kids with one bloodline!)

In addition to birthdays, there was a lot of toddler training. (Torei)

Brotherly love. (Jordi, Elric, and Tariq)

Crib time. (Angei and Maddie)

Oh, and let’s not forget the bird, Falcore who spent a lot of time out of his cage flying around.

Elric and Jordi are probably the closest of the siblings. Finding one without the other was very rare.

Maddie aged to toddler.

And then it was time for Torei and Elric to age up.

I got completely confused thinking Torei and Angei were twins and aged Torei up late!

Elric must look up to his brother because he aged with the same shirt as Tariq. He rolled knowledge/romance.

Oh, but we’re not done yet!

Another elder. Told ya we had a lot of birthdays… and we’re not done!

Still two toddlers.

They kept napping on the couch instead of going upstairs to their beds.

After spending most of their lives on maternity leave Nadya and Nessa finally went back to work.

Poor Angei’s birthday was forgotten!

(I don’t usually play households long enough to need to age them up on their actual birthdays before 6pm!)

The next day it was Jordi’s turn.

He rolled the pleasure/knowledge.

Near the end of our time there, Nadya started to complain about shortness of breath.

But didn’t say anything to the family.

And it was truly so chaotic it’s not surprising they didn’t notice.

It wasn’t long before Nessa admitted feeling strange herself.

Finally noticing something was going on with his mothers, Tariq offered to help Maddie blow out her candles.

And with that, our time here is at its end… for now.

Next door, Nadya’s cousin Neema Augustine lives with her twin sons Kently…

And Billie and her husband Bryant.

The boys tried to go outside but were quickly called back in.

“But mom, it looks disgusting!”

“Stop being such a baby and just eat it!”

Their house is freaking huge so the boys both got their own bedroom.

With that gigantic house, someone has to pay the bills.

And maybe Neema was worried about her figure? She kept going outside to play basketball.

Despite their differences, the twins are very close.

Billie enjoys creative pursuits.

And Kently logical ones.

Too smart for his own good, Kently asked his mom about the blocked off roads.

And asked about his father’s job and why he worked less since he could only work locally now.

And why they couldn’t go to school now.

But, the adults really weren’t worried.

They were already thinking about the future. The boys would age to teen in a few days and before they knew it they’d be married!

Kently took a rare break from the chess table to play with some old toys.

Even dad seemed surprised to find him in there.

But, oh, it seems the reason becomes more clear. Billie must have wanted some attention from mom who is usually at the chess table as well. He seems to think video games would be more fun.
