TS4→ The Runaway 2.4: Total Rip-Off

End My Suffering Gen 2 Runaway Teen Ch 4

26 had barely gotten any sleep at all after returning from the jungle before he was attacked by spiders!  Had they followed him back?

His first stop was the pawn shop to see Kyat.

Kyat was really happy to buy most of the items he’d found and somehow talked him into buying a skeleton replica before he left.  He decided not to mention the golden frog figurine.

And then it was Winterfest.  Everywhere he went was decorated.

He decided that since practically everywhere would be mostly empty anyway with everyone celebrating with family, he’d treat himself to a warm meal.

After eating he spotted a skating rink.

Obviously, he’d never skated before but it was fun to attempt it.

And he warmed up with some cocoa before leaving the area.

He was feeling pretty good about himself and spent more time than usual at the gym working out before he used their shower.  He thought facing the wall would be the easiest way to keep hidden.

After the gym, he wandered a few buildings down to the museum.  He really was beginning to feel lonely and thought if he practiced talking to people he might be more comfortable.

He grabbed a few souvenirs before heading out.

He went to the island museum as he does every night and soon was bombarded by women.  Why were they here?

He decided to just cut his losses and go home.  He still had some items he’d found in the jungle he wanted to clean up before showing them to Kyat.

He really needs to buy a toilet.

Truly, even with the spider webs cleared out and the weeds pulled, the cave isn’t a very cozy place to be.

He took the items he’d cleaned up to show Kyat and he bought a few as well as some of the ones he hadn’t wanted before.

The front of the shop was full of family!  Including his triplet brother Zed.  How strange it is to be a teen when your brother that was born at the same time is a young adult already?

He spent a while in the back chatting with Kira’s twin brother Karter until Zed left.

He was really getting sick of granola and cereal from the cooler so when he noticed that the Windenburg gym had a little kitchen he cooked up something.

It was an attempt at one of the meals he’d eaten in Selvadorada.  Not bad!

He watched a movie on the TV there while working out and just ignored everyone around him.  There never seems to be anyone his age in the gym anyway.

He went to the park next door after that hoping there might be some teens or even children hanging out but since it was a blizzard it wasn’t the best idea.  His niece Crissy chatted with him for awhile and a girl that’s like the step-daughter of one of his brothers or something… whatever.  Doesn’t matter because she’s not very nice.

Back to the museum.  Thankfully, there was nobody there this time.  Looks like that woman finished her painting and left it here.  It kinda reminded him of the ghost pets.

He sat and read for a bit while waiting to see if any would show up tonight.

And they did.

He saw a dog that reminded him of the Cupcake he’d met the first night.  He decided to call her Cupcake as well.

They spent the entire night playing!  She’s a very sweet dog.

When he asked her if she wanted to come home with him the strangest thing happened!

When they got back to the camp Cupcake immediately began to explore.

Every nook and cranny had to get a good sniff.

She even tested the bush out for squirrels.  Thank goodness 26 had found a toilet or that would be very gross indeed!

She did eventually calm down and took a nap on the cute floor pillow 26 found.

In the light of day he was able to get a closer look at Cupcake and saw that she was sick.  He tried feeding her the wellness treat he’d bought for the first Cupcake but she wouldn’t eat it.  He decided to just take her to the vet.  He looked again at the ambrosia treats.  No way could he afford one of those.

While waiting for a vet to return he chatted with his niece Gabby who was there with her cats Peanut Butter and Elliot.

Shockingly, vets don’t treat ghost pets!  If they can’t be taken to the vet and they won’t eat wellness treats how can they be sick?  While pondering that quandary, he made his way to a food stall.

He splurged and got a meat bone meal for Cupcake.  It’s the least he could do since he was clueless as to how to cure her sickness.

They returned to the haunted island and he read another book.  He still hadn’t given up hope that he’d find the first Cupcake.

When he bought the toilet he’d also purchased a tub.  Good thing too since Cupcake needed a bath.  How a ghost can get dirty is a question for another day.  She got her bath and he got his bath then they slept most of the day away.

He stopped in to see Kyat but didn’t have much to offer to sell this time since he’d been busy with the dog.  Kyat mentioned that he’d heard about two dogs both named Cupcake that were mates.  Maybe his dog is one of them?

That night he returned to the haunted island and looked up the story.  Indeed there had been two mated Cupcakes!  And they looked like his Cupcake and the other ghost Cupcake he’d met the first night.  Too cool!  Maybe that’s why he felt such a pull towards them both?  He waited hours but when the other dog never showed up he went back home to sleep the day away yet again.

Desperate times call for desperate measures.  26 decided to apply for a small loan so that he could afford the ambrosia treat and finally take care of Cupcake’s sickness.

He wasn’t sure what to expect.  She ate the treat even though she wouldn’t eat a wellness treat spun up into the air shining and then… nothing.

Ghost or not he was able to get her treated now.  Oddly, once the vet put the cone on her she was no longer a ghost.

Awe look at you!  What a fun surprise seeing the ghost dog not as a ghost.

Oh.  Umm… spoke too soon?

She didn’t seem to care.  She hopped right into the little pool and started swimming.

But was unhappy about the cone.  The cone that he couldn’t take off because she’s a ghost… again.  Will Cupcake ever not be a ghost?  Stay tuned.

Extras…

26 talking to Kyat after returning from the jungle.  Guess what’s on his mind?

I was looking around to see if there were any teens and realized that everyone on the street was standing still on their phones.  So weird.

I’d actually been hoping she’d have a baby.

Something weird is going on in my game and I don’t know if it’s a mod or what.  Even in his cold weather wear he’ll begin to freeze if he’s inside with no thermostat.  I’ve had to add them to every place he goes.

Holidays alone suck.

No surprise there.

Have I mentioned how much blizzards annoy me?

Gee thanks for telling me.  I’m trying!

Ghost dogs can even drink from the toilet.

After taking out all mods and repairing my game… still a ghost.

I noticed all these pups in one of the family households!  No clue who left them when they moved but I gave them to Amelia.  She must be lonely alone.

Chapter 2.5 coming soon!

Chapter note:  I’m sorry if this chapter is extremely grumpy.  The whole ghost dog debacle still has me upset.  Apparently, they didn’t anticipate people like me thinking ghost dogs would be cool and didn’t give a way to cure them of sickness.  The stuck ghost thing I’ve seen before.  It happened to James Turner in his Seasons Let’s Play.  I’ve actually only played one sim day past this.  You know how it is, something gets me upset enough I quit playing altogether.  Usually, I just move on to another game for a while but I actually haven’t played at all.  Nope not true, I started playing Sims 3 SNAFU again.

**If you didn’t know already, the atm loan thing is one of LittleMsSam’s mods.**

TS4→ The Runaway 2.3: The Temple Hurt My Feelings

End My Suffering Gen 2 Runaway Teen Ch 3

Time to continue 26’s jungle excursion.

Did I mention it was raining?  He left the cold and snow in Granite Falls to uh… warm rain?  Oh, and there were snakes!  And he had no umbrella.  Such is life.

He dug through all of the piles searching for anything he could sell to Kyat.

And lost his machete requiring him to use his hands to make his way through the brambles.

What a view!

Spiders!

And more dig piles.

And more clawing his way through vines.

It was growing dark when he found a small clearing with a chest.

And another dig pile.

Continuing forward he was clearing vines when he was attacked by bats!

The temple!

Thankfully, he had brought supplies.

I thought viewing these might be fun… no such luck.

Nope, not fun either.

I guess fun can wait.

He got a fair amount of sleep before he was woken by spiders.  He’d used all of his spray and thus was bitten this time.  Whew, not poisonous!

He really has no skills and so he wasn’t able to discern if most of the options were correct.  He failed the first one.  So much for the spider not being poisonous.

Oh c’mon now, was poisoning him a second time really necessary?

26 really does have terrible luck.

You think I’m wrong?  Look, he finally unlocked the gate, right?  This was the only option left!

These skeletons look so cool!

At that point, 26 had had enough.  He was hungry and filthy and needed the restroom badly.

He found a toilet/shower combo on his way back to the marketplace.  Time to take care of other pressing matters.

Like seeking an antidote from one of the vendors.  What was that tourist looking at?  Weirdo.

More food.  He decided he kinda likes the spiciness of it now.

The teen vendor, Cipriano, that he’d met earlier sat to chat with him and told him tales about the jungle.

He purchased even more supplies for his return trip to the temple.

He noticed an archaeology table nearby and thought he’d try to see what’s within this huge dirt clump he’d been hauling around.  (Seriously, where’d he keep that?)

On his way out he had a quick chat with the statue.  He probably looked like an idiot, although he’d seen locals doing it, he hoped she might give him some luck.  Being poisoned again didn’t sound appealing.

When he returned to the temple he decided to get some sleep before going forward.  It’s not much creepier than his “cave.”

He figured out the puzzle on the first try!  Truly, he must have been blessed.

Another chest!  Which is apparently, where his luck ran out.

At this point, 26 was feeling utterly alone in this world.  Truly, he started thinking about how his entire family must hate him, how he has no friends, and he can’t even find the ghost dog.  He took his frustrations out on the guardian… and it opened the gate!

He found one chest like the others…

And another that contained the most glorious golden frog figurine.  He looked around but saw nothing else of interest in the temple.

Hungry, and altogether feeling miserable he went back to the marketplace to find food.

When someone approached him they would become blessed.  How could being around him bless others when he’s so miserable?

He saw another teenage local.  She doesn’t look too friendly.

He talked to her anyway and learned her name is Kiara and nothing more than that because she became blessed as well and that seemed like all she was interested in.

He began to realize it’s more of a curse because people would approach him, say something, become blessed, and walk away.  Even the vendor closed down her stand to talk to him!

Despite his loneliness, he decided to avoid people altogether and take a look at some of the items he’d collected.

He even started to feel like he might possibly know what he’s doing.  He bought a table of his own from a vendor and headed home.

And returned to a winter wonderland and freezing temperatures.  Let’s hope the blankets on the cot are insulated.

Extras…

He had almost every travel supply, except fire quencher.  Guess which one all of the chance cards called for without skill?

Poor guy.

Joy eh?  Are you sure about that?

Talk about preying on his weakness!  Mean temple!

Hasn’t he been in this phase all along?

I kept getting notifications of brothers and sisters aging up.

This cracked me up!  Leave it to the game to marry two of the sims I’d given funny names to each other.  I gave them the last name Behr but on Twitter ElderJymm suggested Big-Behr so I’ve been changing them when I see them.

TS4→ The Runaway 2.2: Ghostly Encounters

End My Suffering Gen 2 Runaway Teen Ch 2

26 heard someone talking about this old museum on the island that nobody ever goes to.  When he went in he saw a really bright lantern.  The one at his camp is really dark.  Nobody will miss this if they don’t go here anyway right?

After looking around he found a computer and decided to go back to those forums he’d found and read the responses.  People sure do get riled up about silly things.

He heard a noise outside and went to investigate and found… ghost pets?  Probably the reason nobody comes here at night!

Too cool!  He met a floppy-eared dog he decided looked like a Cupcake… for whatever reason.

As he got to know him, other dogs kept showing up.

The other dogs were cool too but he felt an instant bond with Cupcake.

As the sun rose the dogs all vanished and he headed back to camp.  Some girl was walking by and started chattering away about being nice and positivity.  Then she just wandered back into the forest.  Weird.

The thought of using the bush as a toilet again didn’t appeal so he decided to kill two birds with one stone since he needed a shower too.

He was about to head back to the pawn shop when he caught sight of a food stall out of the corner of his eye!

Food!  Real… warm… food!  He missed his mother’s cooking so much.

He decided that while he was there he’d have a look around for more things that Kyat might buy.  He ended up spending hours searching.

He popped into the back room and managed to talk Kyat into buying a few items.

He saw one of his nieces on the way out that he’d thought was pretty cool, Gabby, and decided to test the waters.  She didn’t remember him since he hadn’t aged up when they met so he just went with it.

Actually, there were so many sims at that reunion most of them probably didn’t remember him.  He decided to stick around and chatted with a goofy little kid for a while.

26 headed to the vet office before returning to the haunted island.  The ghost dog, Cupcake, was sick so he purchased a wellness treat.  He noticed there is an ambrosia treat as well but there’s no way he can afford that!

Yikes!

He arrived on the island but Cupcake was nowhere in sight.

He was petting this dog while waiting but it went to sleep.

He checked the creepy graveyard but there were only a few cats.

He returned “home” disappointed.

Although, it’s not really much of a home.

It was Saturday and since all of the other kids would be out of school he thought he’d make the trek to Granite Falls.  Unfortunately, he forgot it’s nearing winter.

Still, he decided to make the best of it.  He’d already paid for a night’s camping.

Cool bugs!

Even cooler!  He couldn’t imagine another insect could possibly be cooler than this one!

Either she’s lost or there’s some sort of pirate party in the forest.

He was growing lonely and so was relieved when a boy named Jiffy Pancakes introduced himself.

He was a really sweet kid and they talked like pirates jokingly since they’d both seen the pirate lady.

Before Jiffy left, he gave 26 a hug.

He thought he might as well grill up some of the fruits he’d found.  Maybe a grill to spruce up his camp?  Hot food sure is nice.

He made his way back to his camp area and collected some more items he thought Kyat might buy and was so preoccupied he didn’t realize how badly he had to go!

Whew!  It was cold and dark and just generally miserable so he decided he might as well just leave.

When he’d seen Kyat last he’d talked 26 into buying a silly dog statue that Kyat insisted looked like the ghost dog.  It didn’t but 26 bought it anyway.  It now sat proudly by the cool dragon insect.  What to do now?

He decided that if the forest was cold and miserable perhaps he’d have better luck in the jungle.  The jungle camp was just as sparse.  That’s okay, he didn’t plan to stay here anyway.

He made his way to the marketplace and took a moment to admire the statue there.

Adventure gear huh?  Well, you know what they say… nothing ventured nothing gained.

One of the vendors, Cipriano, was a teenager too so he chatted with him for a bit.  He had to give props to anyone who tried to sell their homework.  He got some more gear from him.

Real food.  Warm food.  He savored every bite even if it was spicier than he was accustomed to.

And then he was off to the jungle trailhead.  Seems public bathrooms are disgusting no matter where they are!  (26’s jungle excursion to be continued.)

Extras…

Another niece.

This one made me sad.  He was my favorite when I played that household.

I spotted Yumi after her young adult makeover.  Freaking adorable.

Speaking of aging up.

I really liked Jiffy!

Seems the developers didn’t think about weather when they made sims march around in hiking gear.  That’s Evie Delgato, Kira’s mom.

Chapter 2.3

Chapter note: The jungle camp is aptly named Jungle Campsite by amesxoxo on the gallery.  It costs the same as the one in Granite Falls to rent.

TS4→ The Runaway 2.1: Home Sweet… Home?

End My Suffering Gen 2 Runaway Teen Ch 1

After that weird guy, Kyat, left, 26 tried to sleep but he couldn’t.  Probably for the best since he noticed one of his older sisters, Nyla, walking her dog.

He found a small pond in a secluded area nearby.  He decided it’s probably best to keep out of sight during the times he should be in school anyway.

“I caught you, now what do I do with you?”

Nothing to eat but apples.  Maybe that guy Kyat would buy the fish so he can find something better to eat.

Just in case he has no interest in fish it’s not a bad idea to look around for other stuff.

Might as well do something while hiding out.

He found a more secluded fishing area on the beach after collecting everything he could find.

And met a cute stray.

After school was out, he went searching in the visible areas.  Avoiding family is going to be next to impossible.

He needed a shower badly so went to the gym and hopped on a treadmill to make it seem as if that’s why he was filthy before heading to the showers.

Another apple.  This is getting old already.

The pawn shop.  Just wow.  And that must be their house next door.

He went in and looked around.  The inside was even stranger than the outside.  Kyat immediately approached him.

He did buy a few of the items 26 had found thankfully.

But the best news is that Kyat had remembered some ruins in the forest where his mother and him had spent a short time before the winter started when he was a kid.

As he was heading out he met a girl named Kira Delgato.  She said a lot of the teens hang out here and she’d never seen him.  He played it off but wow is she pretty!

Before heading out to find the forest he searched around for more items that he might be able to sell to Kyat on his next visit.

Didn’t Kyat say they’d left those ruins when winter started?  Maybe it’s not as great as he’d hoped since winter is about to start now.

Well, it’s not much to look at.

But it does have a cave-esque shelter.  He still couldn’t believe that Kyat talked him into buying an old rug of all things!

He took a quick bush nap…

And choked down another apple.

And fished on the beach most of the night.

There are two big bushes nearby.  He decided to designate this one further away as the potty bush.

And the closer one as the sleeping bush.

He woke up with hunger pains, ate a few more apples, and went back to sleep.  He wanted to train himself to sleep while the other teens are at school.

When he headed back to the desert he searched for more items to, hopefully, sell.

He found Kyat in the backroom this time.  Thankfully, he bought some of the stuff he’d found.  He decided not to question the flamingos.

This time it was a teen boy hanging out behind the counter, Jayson.

Then he noticed one of his nieces.  He still couldn’t decide if he could trust to talk to them or not.

Best to stick to children and teens he doesn’t know for now.

On the way out he met another boy, Guillermo, who also noted that he hadn’t seen him around.  26 felt like an idiot introducing himself as T all of the time but nobody questioned it.

Again, he was off to the gym to work out for a few minutes before using the showers.  Maybe boxing’s not his thing.

When one of his sister’s started boxing as well he slid out of there and onto a treadmill.  He found he really liked exercising actually and had a twinge of sadness over the times he’d played on the monkeybars and swings with his brother Zed.

As he was leaving, he bumped into a girl Genesis.  She was really cool and they had a lot of fun joking around.  It was the most he’d talked to anyone since leaving home and he felt lighter after she wandered away calling back to him she’d see him around.

The “cave” was pretty dismal after leaving the bright desert but he was relived to have food and a place to sleep.

He headed to the library after setting up his little camp.  At first he thought he’d read a book but decided a computer would be better use of his time.  He grabbed a book before finding the computers.  Nobody would miss it anyway there are tons of books.

He’d had so much fun teasing and joking around with that girl Genesis and was feeling lonely so he found some teen forums and trolled around a bit.

Time to sleep the day away.

After leaving the wet camp it was nice to bask in the desert heat.  Since Kyat had bought a few fish he thought he’d try his hand at catching some more.

He did buy some other things which was, again, a relief.

Kyat told him he could try selling some of the other items on Simbay so he gave it a try.  It seemed more of a hassle than it’s worth though.  There’s an item limit and a fee to use it and he could only use it once a day.  He decided he’d just try to wear Kyat down on the items he hadn’t bought yet.

Extras...

For the first few days, in addition to rolling to see if Kyat would buy anything, I used LittleSam’s Simbay mod.  It’s just too hard to remember to use it.  Especially since I had to cheat him a computer and bring it in and out of household inventory since it didn’t actually work off-lot.

I lured Kira Delgato outside to get a closer pic in the light.  She’s Evie’s daughter.  So pretty.

I could not even believe when the freaking welcome wagon showed up.  I’d kept him out the first few days and then suddenly poof there they are!  I’d aged Amelia to elder early when he left because it seemed strange she had kids older than her.  Also, look above her head… floating plate.

I forgot they’d added walkbys to the island.

I left most of them in whatever athletic wear the game gave them.  Perhaps that was a mistake.

The camp’s lot traits.

Speaking of which, here are the original ruins.  I changed them almost completely, lol.

I wasn’t exactly sure what I was looking for with the pawn owner.  I think I used #eccentric.  I later had to make him an adult mother so I could use her to hire him to work at the shop.

Speaking of the shop.  I was torn between this one and one that had tons of junk all over the place outside.  I ended up just adding a bunch of stuff to this one since it already had some really neat debug items.  I also searched through the packs that weren’t used and added some of the newer items.

And, we can’t have eccentric pawn owners without a house next door now can we?  I changed it to a brighter pink and added some stuff to the front lawn.  It cracks me up that it’s next door but Kyat drives the truck to work every day.

Chapter 2.2
